After some experimentation with color schemes, we came to a color block-in that we were happy with.
These were our final concepts for both Clark (Hacker) and Dagger (Spy). It was important to us that they looked like they complimented each other and fit together since they’re supposed to be field partners.
After several weeks of concepting, we finally started to narrow our focus on what did and didn’t like. We’ve almost got our final Clark concept.
Fat Clarks. Skinny Clarks. Clarks with shorts. Clarks with funny t-shirts. Clarks who were allergic to peanuts. It was becoming frustrating how much more effort we went through finding a good concept than with Dagger.
Cassandra’s concepts provided a lot of variety to pick from, and we were able to salvage a number of clothing and body-type ideas for Clark.
A lot of ideas were thrown on the table by both Cassandra and Amelia. Many died. Some were cut up and salvaged for parts. It was gruesome.
Clark, the Hacker, gave us the most trouble. With Dagger, we didn’t have to go through a ton of iteration before we found something we were happy with. Clark, not so much.
There was back and forth joking that if we had time to make stories for the missions, one of them would have the players going on a dangerous mission to get their boss a latte. This never happened. But we got a final concept for Dagger out of it.
Here we start to see Dagger take shape and look closer to her final concept. Except the one on the right. No idea where that came from.
Dagger was supposed to be more flexible and stealthy than her counter-part, so the concepts played with different views on ‘secret agent’ type characters.
